Feb 19 - on the road again

with my bicycle, that is !  North this time, for the first time in 2017.  The wind wasn't very cooperative with a headwind on the way north and an east wind on the way south, but c'est la vie.  While I was out, Sandy did some gardening / trimming.   Things are looking pretty good.

My legs still haven't recovered from the time off / climb / meds / whatever.  They were aching by the time I got back.  That could have been the contrary wind but it was only 78 miles.  I'll be riding regularly now which should help immensely.

Jerry called while I was riding but I missed that call and one from Dan Driscoll.  I emailed Jerry and called him but never heard back.  He's supposed to be here later this week.

Dan was calling about Kili, wanting advice, feedback etc.  He's kind of in analysis paralysis now with a bunch of organizers in a spreadsheet comparing costs, duration, routes, conflicting claims of summit success and whatnot.  I didn't go through that; just went with Bob K who'd already lined up Kiliwarriors.  Dan is more time than money sensitive because Pam only gets two weeks off per year.  Part of his dilemma is that Kiliwarriors doesn't have anything else booked at this point.  While they are happy to climb together, Dan and Pam would rather have at least a few more people on the climb.  We were only six into October and then suddenly we were sixteen.  Once something is booked, they start lining up.

Anyway, he's got a decision to make.  I can't help him any more than I have.

Onward !

Boy you nailed it Dave...analysis paralysis!!! That's dans normal MO so nothing unusual. Everything is always pikes into spreadsheets hoping for clarity that rarely comes :). I think we're closer today and kinda have to be because I've already scheduled my days off and bought our plane tickets. Time to pull the trigger! Now that my stock show is over I can take a little more active role in all the trip foreplay. Time to drive on and start getting excited :))

Ha - yes - we used to call it analysis paralysis when we'd have a lot of information that we couldn't quantify, trying to weigh pluses and minuses. All of us being analytical types, we'd try and assemble more information and it would only get worse :).
