Mar 11 - wow ! busy !

It's always entertaining to ride during bike week -- ride a bicycle, that is, during motorcycle week.  The amount of money rolling on two wheels is simply amazing !

It was very busy, probably as busy as I've seen it since the year that we moved to Florida.  Traffic southbound to Main St., Beachside Daytona Beach was backed up for about 2 miles.  Stopped.  Northbound it was "only" a mile or so.  Why someone would try driving a car in the middle of that escapes me, but there were a few cars too.  Only bikes are allowed on Main Street (I'm sure that I'm included, but didn't test that theory.

I ended up riding on the sidewalk through most of Daytona Beach as many of the motorcycles were crowding the curb.  Then I had to dodge the people ... but it's fun - not fast, but fun !

At any point that I was on US 1, motorcycles dominated the traffic.  Through Tomoka Park it was the same.  Flagler Beach was buried in noisy bikes.  Parking lots for bars were "bikes only".  That's the way that it goes.

Before heading out, I'd finished up my outdoor plumbing.  That's all working nicely.  Whether it's useful or simply decoration is quite another story.  At some point I will use liquid nails to afix that row of travertine to the wal.

Sandy is walking regularly with Cassie now, trying to, using the "gentle leader", get her to walk at her side with a slack leash.  I'm not as fussed about that as long as she isn't pulling my arm off.  That said, I haven't done much walking after Kili.

Our church was a little less crowded this morning due to the time change, no doubt.  I still have a few clocks to adjust here :).

David and Vanda are well on the road south; somewhere in South Carolina.  He needs a SPOT so that we can track him !  However, SPOT has just put up their prices, from $150 USD per year to $215.  They've created some "enhanced basic" plan and discontinued basic but I didn't need any enhancements.  They have also added a $15 "network fee".  It's all BS -- more money for the same service.

Anyhoo ... I'll keep the service but the more-than-1/3 price increase is annoying !
