Oct 26 - beating myself up

How can I beat myself up doing a 200k ?  How do I ever survive 400k ?  1200k ?

Of course I push harder doing 200 than if I knew that I had a longer day / several days ahead of me.  I would also have something to eat, rather than a few gels, and I would have more to drink !

It was a cool start yesterday, temps in the low 50's.  I started off with three layers -- short sleeve, long sleeve and wind jacket.  Eventually I took off the light jacket but was never so overheated that I needed to remove the long sleeves.  It warmed up to 70-ish; bright and sunny all day.

Beating myself up ?  Well, perhaps it was the 20 mph headwind going north ?  It made for a nice cruise south but I was already beat up at that point !

Well, that's my October 200k in the bag and now I have another to look forward to in a few days !

Once home, I quickly showered and took Cassie out to the sandbar.  Sandy had walked to the park with her in the a.m. so she got some good exercise yesterday.

Jessica came over at 10am with her son Noah (9 mos ?) and gave Sandy a workout.  She'll be hurting today.

Jessica is pregnant again !  They're going to be something like 14-15 months apart, like David and Stef; my Dad and my uncle Phil were even closer together.  Here's something amusing -- when my Grandmother was asked why she had two babies so close together, she said that in those days, she thought that she couldn't get pregnant while breast feeding ...   old wives tales indeed !

Today's weather looks like a repeat of yesterday ... I'll hopefully get those fans installed.  I don't know if I'll be able to do anything about the M5's exhaust.  Sandy has a hair appointment later today.

Happy Birthday to Marda !  Today she catches up to Sandy :).

Onward !
