We happened to hit Reading on Oct 6th, so Sandy was treated to a birthday cake and some wonderful "Nana" presents. For a brief period Sandy is another year older than me and then I partly catch up in December :). Since Sandy doesn't have her own Facebook account, preferring to "lurk" on mine (aka ours), she doesn't get the barrage of FB well wishes. Perhaps I should change the birthdate on the account to hers and all those messages will arrive in Oct next year ?
We visited for a couple of hours with Doris and Wayne Guymon. Doris was up and talkative but not very strong. She's on yet another dose of chemo and that takes a whack at you. She's been fighting this for a long, long time and they have to keep adapting the meds as the disease keeps adapting. It's like a "superbug" at this point. It'll never completely go away but we can hope for some sort of maintenance regimen. If we did see B&C that would certainly make this a visitation trip. We also tried to see Stef on the way; called her twice, but there was no answer at their house. We guessed that she was out with her new car but haven't talked to her.
