Dec 26 - corrupted ?

Who knows.  Windows tried to do a major update on my virtual W10 and it got stuck.  Later on, it worked, but that was only after restoring to a copy from two weeks ago, attaching the probably-corrupted disk and retrieving day to day files.  It turned out that the last step wasn't quite necessary.  I had done a bunch of Quicken updating and hadn't closed it; seems that without closing the transactions are posted but the file update date isn't set.  Outlook.pst, however, is right to the minute.  Go figure.

That took quite a while but it didn't need attending.

I did a little electrical work in the basement, adding a light over my workbench.  Cassie got out a few times, bounding in the snow.  Sandy spent the day in Sudbury, hitting bank accounts and credit cards, getting home around 4pm with tons of food necessitating several trips up and down the stairs for both of us.

I never got to present wrapping ... perhaps today.  Jeffrey should be on the road shortly.

We had pike for dinner again.  That's twice. By the end of the day I brought in the remaining rig, not wanting it to freeze solid like the last time.  I had, however, put cardboard over the hole; snow on the cardboard, so it was hardly frozen.  It's amazing what a little air space and snow can do, insulation-wise.

Snow Machines were up and down the lake.  Apparently Mario Copelli was coming in, according to Ernie.  There's been no action at all at our end of the road. Ernie is back and forth to North Bay.  Art is probably in Niagara Falls or somewhere down there with his family.  In other words, it's not very busy here !

Sandy said that it wasn't very busy in Sudbury and of course the stores weren't exactly overstocked with fresh veggies, having been closed the day before.  Some stores that she relies on, like Smith's, weren't even open.  Her normal YIG (Your Independent Grocer) didn't have cooked chickens; the other did.  I suppose that she could have gone to Swiss Chalet ...

Today Sandy will be doing food prep.  I really should get to the wrapping :).

Onward !
