I'm caught it time zone inversion hell. I felt so tired mid day yesterday but then by late afternoon, was feeling fine ... but of course that's because it was my normal waking time in Perth. I went to bed last night at 9pm, thinking that I'd get back onto my normal schedule; woke up at midnight and I'm still up at 5am. It's going to be a long day !
Yesterday was all about catchup. Laundry. Make snow tires accessible (now in Jim's trailer). Grocery shopping. Snack making -- seed bars; tapenade etc. I just spent that last hour or so updating Quicken accounts; lots of credit card transactions from the trip.
We did learn one thing about travel. If you're flying out from and into the US ... use your US passport the entire time. I'd setup the Electronic Travel Authorization on the Canadian Passports and so we used those to enter Oz. That produced some real mixup coming back where we need to use our US passports to enter the US. It was a problem at check-in for the return flight from Oz, at passport control leaving Oz and we got a lecture from the US border agent on not "mix and match". It seems that there is a lot of tracking that's done (surprise, surprise) and how can you leave if you haven't entered ... how can you return if you haven't left. Big Brother is definitely watching.
Jim and Sheryl fly from Orlando Sanford to Plattsburg today and return on the 11th. One or both of us will take them to the airport. Orlando Sanford is great -- closer and smaller. Sheila is picking them up in Plattsburgh, which is less than 1/2 hour from Hemmingford. They'll be carry-on only, so easy travel, not like our recent flights !
