Feb 22 - adding to the list

Some back and forth emails and I may have added Bulgaria to my list of rides.  Time will tell.  Sandy is looking at walking tours for that northern Spain pilgrimage; we'd fly to/from Barcelona and then I'd continue to Sofia, do the ride, back to Barcelona, do the Spain ride etc. etc.  My ride in Spain starts just a couple of hours drive from Barcelona.

In the meantime, plans are shaping up for the ride in Brazil.  That's a humdinger with an immense amount of climbing.  Looking at the route profile there's a section of 12% that will be really tough.  I could be in for some walking.  Another section at 18% is downhill. I'd better check my brakes !  I've also exchanged emails with Juan; perhaps I'll see him before the ride.  His advice was to ride in a group.  Great.  Brazil could be more about survival, in more ways than one !

Jerry arrived just after noon and we immediately took Cassie over to the sandbar.  Nothing much happened for the rest of the day, sitting, chatting, solving the problems of the world.  Sandy picked up shrimp and we ate well.

John Lee and Pat texted to say that they were on the ground and then called to ask if they were going the correct way on 528.  Nope.  They eventually got turned around and made it to the Best Western in NSB but running late so we postponed our call with Lois.  They are coming over for dinner tonight so we'll call her together.

JLE and likely Pat are coming over first thing today and picking up the bike -- JLE likely riding it back to the rental, I'd guess.  Sandy has Jessica.  Jerry and I will ride.
