The days fly by. I've got so much to do before we leave for Europe !
First, I've got bike maintenance. I did a major overhaul, changing bottom bracket, crankset chain rings, chain (already did that just before the BRB ride), rear derailleur and cassette ... basically most of the drivetrain. I also replaced a piece of shift cable housing. The rest is ok. I still have to rewrap my handlbars; existing wrap is getting pretty shoddy looking; that's more esthetics.
We went into Sudbury, pulling the 5x8 trailer, picking up a set of bunk beds - double futon below and bunk above. It would only fit in the large trailer. Now I've got to do assembly. Sandy has in mind that there will be a crowd here the first week of August and we need more sleeping capacity in the basement bedroom
... and some maintenance outside -- oil here (Sandy's car) and there (Whaler), garbage to the dump (took advantage of the trailer to dispose of the 8' fluorescent hardware that had been removed from the barn) etc. etc. I have yet to do any weed whacking; that will come.
In the midst of all that, I've spent huge amounts of time plotting routes, getting them available for spotwalla tracking, learning how to add POI's on these maps to indicate overnight stops, adding routing to hotels that I've booked, plotting two new routes for Randonneurs Ontario, handling a number of Randonneurs USA issues - I've got more work than I have time. How did that happen ???
Sandy will head to Toronto today for the ballet. I bailed and Joyce is the beneficiary. It didn't look like a ballet that I'd like anyway. Sandy first asked about Lauren but she's working ... yes she's got a part-time job. Good for her !
The black flies are done, it seems. The mosquitoes aren't an issue as long as you're in the hot sun but don't venture into the shade ! Murder !
Onward !
