I had more work for Randonneurs Ontario and Randonneurs USA, naturally. Two conference calls, updating financials, lots of RUSA email traffic, on and off but not all consuming. In between, I did some plumbing which wasn't entirely successful because I have a residual drip, drip, drip in the furnace room. It's extremely slow, doesn't even amount to a tablespoon over a few hours and either evaporates or trickles to the sump pump. I'm going to let it sit for a while. I'm tired of plumbing.
Over the course of two days, I also filled the woodbox a couple of loads at a time. It was half-full already from David and Vanda having tackled it earlier in the year. We may or may not have a fire between now and when we leave but I'll bring wood down from up at the barn for that and for filling the in-house woodbox, and stock up kindling here etc. since we'll want all that for our arrival at Christmas.
The weather has turned cool at night but beautiful during the day. It's 45F out there now, refreshing.
We head to a Best Western in Richmond Hill today and will drop off the Whaler Trailer at Stef's so that they can load up a couple of kayaks for the return trip. I had to do some fussing with the trailer, since it hadn't been on the road for a long time. I located the spare rim/tire, must put the updated license plate on it this a.m. and checked out the lights. Tomorrow morning I have the Randonneurs Ontario AGM (Annual General Meeting). I could probably have done that by phone but oh well. Sandy and Cassie are going to visit Marian Kassel and their dog while I'm at the meeting.
Before leaving Florida many moons ago (10 years ?), I had installed new LED tail-lights on this trailer. The one on the left is only partially working; half of the LEDs lighting up. As a result, the X5's electronics detect that and produce fast flashing but I can live with that. I should pick up some new lights. They aren't expensive or at least they aren't expensive in the US ... maybe if I paid more they would work ?
The countdown is underway. I've got less than two weeks before heading to Hemmingford and part of that is in North Carolina doing a ride. By the end of next weekend, I should get the gazebo wrapped, the new rims installed on the 4x6 trailer, major packing completed etc. Most of what I have to do is small chores other than the gazebo, which takes the better part of a day.
Onward !
