No, not to keep. This tiny dog was wandering the neighborhood and rescued by Joanne up the street. It's uncared for, long nails, can't hold down food, clearly undernourished, likely not long for this life. It's happy to sit in Sandy's lap, happy with human companionship. With the SPCA closed on Sunday, we've kept it overnight in the laundry room and I see this am that there's a mess in there, from both ends. Sandy intends to take the poor thing to Dr Cox this am but then it has to be off to the shelter. Unless there's a chip in this dog, I expect that they'll have to put it down. The only sound that it has made is a pick-me-up whine once. Cassie was curious at first but now ignores.
Otherwise, I caught up with financials, emails, round-up on the driveway and pavers, some more mangrove trimming, fussed with the M5 which needs attention - brake lines need to be flushed but haven't tried that yet. It's a two-person job that can be drippy and I might just take it to the fellow down the street.
I made a run to Total Wine in Daytona, picking up a case of wine that I ordered online - some Guigal Cotes du Rhone. It's ok drinking, a reasonable standby and not expensive. Without that, I was down to a dozen or so bottles in the wine fridge. Sandy was going to come but there's this dog to tend to ...
Normally I'd have brought a couple of cases down from the cottage but with everything sitting in Hemmingford for a month, I decided that I'd skip that. That means that we're overflowing up north so perhaps I'll bring more down in January but that depends on the weather and my inclination to carry wine up the stairs :).
Today we're heading to Disney to meet up with Jason et al.
Disney-ward !
