Nov 17 - Boy, we are getting lazy

4.something pm - Sandy says - I'm dirty and tired from working in the garden, can you go to the fish store ?  Me - nah, let's just go to the SYC.  Sandy, day before - sometimes it's easier to have the grocery store far away so that I don't have to think about what to have for dinner each day ...

Yes, and this a.m. - rats, Sandy used one of my eggs only leaving 1 after this morning's breakfast, so I'll have to go to the grocery store.

Yup, we are getting lazy.  Part of the problem is that the one on 44 is closed for renovations basically for this season, so I can't just drop in there after Mass.  Going to the Publix beachside isn't much farther but from US 1 there's a long, long, long traffic light after you pass under 44 and then come up on the south side to merge.  After you finally get a green light, 100 feet further on there's a traffic light a Live Oak that's timed to be red for the through traffic, so you sit there too.

It was a typical Florida day.  Sandy worked in the garden.  I did some garage cleanup and closet cleanup after the damp carpet from the A/C.  I still have to call Joe and see if there's something that can be done from a preventative maintenance standpoint so that this doesn't happen again !

The day before, I'd received my new Revelate Designs Pika bag to replace the one on the bike that's dragged on the rear tire a few times and worn holes.  I took it out and thought ... my this is heavy, much more so than my existing bag ... what's up ?  Well, I discovered that they'd sent me three nested together !  At $125 each, that's quite an overship.  So I called and left a vmail and also an email.

Later in that day I got one of the usual calls from nowhereland, no-one-I-know-land, which is usually junk and usually masked by coming from a 610 area code.  This one was from Ankorage and just out of curiosity I picked it up.  Well, it was RD returning my call.  I said that there was a problem with my order, this bag was a lot heavier. The girl said, let me guess, we sent you more than one.  Yup.  She said that they would send me a return label by email, I thought.  That was two days ago.  Nothing yet.  Should I followup again ?  I will on Monday.

I'm awaiting my ABS assembly, very interested in seeing how that works out.  There's been all sorts of back and forth since, advising me to first swap the hydraulic part, see if that corrects the problem and also how to test the solenoids in the electronic part.  I can see me going through a couple of gallons of brake fluid !  The system will be more flushed than my toilet !

Oh yes, and since all the wheels are coming off again and since I'm bleeding all once again, I ordered brake pads to do that work while I've got the wheels off.  I might as well.  I wouldn't normally do any bleeding when replacing pads but actually my service guy told me that he normally flushes the brake lines when doing pads so that there's no dirt and water build up that can eventually cause problems ... good advice.

Cassie had her trip to the island.  That's three or four times already since we've been back.  She ran and ran and ran and ran, was never going to quit but I finally said "in the boat" and away we went.  Perhaps I need to correct that and say "in YOUR boat".  One of these days I should go fishing ...

Onward !
