The day was mostly about planning for the May 2019 Sunshine 1200k. The day went by talking to hotels, talking to fellow organizers, agonizing over a budget spreadsheet and a few side things thrown in, like hanging a ceramic piece outside that we bought in Sicily in 2015 ... some things just take a long time !
Cassie had a trip over to the island, flooded though it might be. The tide was coming in quickly I could have gotten over there sooner but I was on the phone.
A parcel arrived from UPS and the driver put it on top of an outbound parcel that I had sitting in the garage. Rats. So I had to make a trip to the UPS store to drop it off.
I installed the new Rivet saddle on the Litespeed; I want the two bikes to match as much as possible. I've changed the saddle angle just a little bit as I want to try and take a little pressure off my hands. I'll see how that works and then adjust both bikes accordingly.
"Stuff" arrived from UPS (Costco) and in the mail (variety of places), including the brake part. My planned bike ride for today might just have been replaced with work on the M5. I'm anxious to see if I can fix that driver side rear. I've been advised that I can simply replace one half of the assembly - the hydraulic half - and likely fix the problem. If I replace the electronic half that has all the solenoids, there's engine computer coding that someone has to do.
I also did some research on the particulate filter warning that I'm getting with the X5. This is a diesel specific issue. There's an online video from a fellow who cleaned his but it's messy, not something that I'm likely going to do myself. I've got to call the dealer and see what it would cost.
That's probably it ...
Onward !
