Stef and Aaron left mid afternoon, wanting to get home before dark. That reduced the "happy hubbub" a little, but not much :). 50% of the dogs left with them - Mya.
We had gotten a few inches of snow overnight; I did the driveway before heading to Mass in Britt. It was a little sloppy on Osprey and 522 but not too bad.
David's skating rink got some use (I'm calling it David's because he put most of the work into it using the snowblower and then several times flooding). David & Vanda also got onto the ice with the 4-wheeler, having a blast.
Stef and Kylie used their cross country skis, which Stef and Aaron then took home (Kylie and Lauren are still here, going back with David).
We did sparklers late afternoon once it was dark; I'd picked up two varieties of 3' sparklers in South Carolina on the way up. At first neither Matthew or Zoe wanted anything to do with them, but that changed. Cassie hung around until I set off some fire crackers ... she didn't like that much.
Our Christmas season always has some notable meals, kind of expected: Turkey, sausages, peameal (last night) and fondue (upcoming tonight, New Year's Eve). The beef is in my Mom's marinade as we speak. Pork and shrimp are also on the list of usual suspects along with various types of fruit for the chocolate fondue. One of our big eaters won't be partaking - Lauren - as she's now meatless. I don't know about fish. She will, however, dig into the chocolate. She's having a fairly quiet Christmas as she's on crutches due to a knee problem. Hopefully that will be sorted out before she comes to Florida !
Onward !
