Now that was an unusual day. We had dinner at the SYC and I only drank 1/2 of my wine glass. I rode yesterday and all I can figure is that my taste buds were off. I also drank some of the bad tasting tap water. It's amazing how much of a difference our big filter makes.
The wind from the south was just screaming. Often pressed to 9mph or slower, I was done by the time I turned around in Titusville. Not only that but I was soaked. An unexpected rainstorm drenched me for the 5 miles to the turnaround. The temperature dropped suddenly from 85 to 65, partly due to the lack of sun. I had a jacket, of course. I always do. On the way home, as it warmed up, the first step was opening the side vents. The next step was unzipping. The third step was stopping and stuffing into my pack.
The ride home was mostly easy. Normally in a wind like that I'd be flying but I was so tired from the southbound leg that I was just coasting.
I should really get out again today. It's already 70 out there and will be going up. Tomorrow's high is predicted to be in the low 50's. Ugh.
Onward !
