35 miles into my 200k, I was going through an intersection when a little old lady drove up beside me on my left and turned right. We were both going slow and I rode through the turn basically with hip and handlebars leaning against her car as she forced me to turn. Part way through or just as she straightened and stopped, I fell to my left because I'd ended up leaning against the car. It was a dead stop fall down, no road rash but I'm a little stiff from fighting the turn. The shifters were pushed a little over but I banged those back straight. I've got a tiny scrape on my knee.
It could have been a lot worse ! Her excuse was that she thought that if she stopped someone would hit her from behind. I was clearly a pawn, expendable. Actually she and her son were very good checking me over.
It was such a nice day. I just felt uninspired after that.
We had dinner at the SYC. Normally Wednesday is our night but the 1st Wed of each month is the birthday/anniversary dinner and there's no dinner service at the bar.
Onward ...
