Apr 20-May 1 - stack overflow

I'm constantly being diverted.  Blogging is so easy but I need a usb port on my head.

Well, we had a good time, mostly.  As expected, Sandy had a better time than me - good food, lots of laughs.  I had some of the good laughs but good, not so much.  Pasta, pasta, pasta on these rides.

I now have another 600k (Sardinia) to my credit and my first true DNF (Sicily).  Yup.  A crash that bent a wheel left the only practical solution as the train back to the hotel, getting there in time to see Hamid and Aldo, my riding companions, finish.

We didn't really have much time for anything.  Mobs of riders flooded the hotel in Sardinia.  We set out just before midnight on Wednesday and I took the train back to Palermo on Sunday.  I'll blog separately about all that transpired in between.

Back home, Cassie was so happy to see us.  She's now had two, count 'em, two boat rides.  She thinks that's all I'm good for.  I'm about to leave her again as I set out on my own 1200k, riding and then running.

I had two appointments yesterday, the first day back.  First was an eye appointment.  He spent more time checking out my possible concussion than anything else.  Then onto my GP, more time on that front.  I also had a CT scan for my head and an xray of my hip.  My head definitely needs some work ... what can I say ... only someone crazy would do all this.  I don't have the results from that yet.  The hip showed some wear but not major.  It also showed normal bone density, which is a good thing.  Sandy has been saying that I should have a scan since I don't do much weight bearing exercise.

So the story goes on.  I'm still in it.
