I'm riding 10 speed but am rapidly running out of options. 11 speed cassettes don't fit on 10 speed hubs and parts are suddenly becoming difficult to find; shifters in particular. I even have a set of wheels that has never come out of the box, purchased long ago, a very good deal ...
I spent a lot of the day yesterday trying to find 10 speed shifters. I finally located someone selling a new set on ebay but he has not responded to my query. Used ones are available on ebay and I may have to go that route just to have spares in hand. Of course my Litespeed is a good backup and I can cannibalize if necessary. It looks like I won't be able to retire without upgrading ... I was really hoping to hang in with 2x10 until I could get to 1x12 or something. When I do switch, I'll be looking for a 1-to-1 front chainring to rear cog, as my lowest gear. To achieve that now, I use a mountain rear derailleur.
This has been Dr week and it's not quite over. Eyes & GP on Tuesday; Urologist on Wednesday; Chiro on Thursday; Teeth upcoming on Monday. The GP threw in the CT and xray; the CT scan hasn't been read yet or at least I haven't seen it. If I was bleeding on the brain, I'd be dead now.
It's hot out there. The water is mid 80's. There won't be any more cool nights for a while.
