May 23-26 - a relatively easy drive

We left about 10am on Thursday, making it to the Rock Hill SC Hampton in reasonable time.  From there we went to the West Seneca (Buffalo) Country Inn and Suites, again an easy drive albeit getting cooler. Both of these were well setup for dogs, long grassy areas for the chuck-it !  From WS to Parry Sound Sobey's for some startup groceries and to the cottage, getting here a little after 1pm ... too early for wine !  It was cooler inside than out but raining out and had been raining from when we crossed the border.

The border crossing - where are you going, how long ... that's it.  Oh yes, beer and wine, firearms questions.  I didn't have to tell them about the few little things that we were bringing up; he'd have sent us on our way anyway.

We emptied the car, leaving the trailer for the next day.  I took care of that in the a.m.  Then I set to, with a frenzy, the gazebo and the docks, doing all that with a bug jacket on as the black flies were fierce and everywhere.  The temperature got up to 71F and in the sun, you couldn't pause for a second.

Oh yes, before that frenzy I went to Mass in Britt.

No more "welcome to your thermostat" - I replaced the thermostat with the one that I'd replaced in the kitchen in Florida.  Now I have access to all four (cottage and Florida kitchen, master bedroom and upstairs bedrooms) via the internet.  I hope that this works out here.  Last winter there was only one day with the internet down due to snow in spite of the huge snowfalls.

There's still a lot to do here but nothing really pressing.

We were in early enough on Saturday that I could grill and then again last night.  Sandy will go into Sudbury today (Monday) or tomorrow.

Cassie got in a ton of swimming yesterday.  I was working outside of course and every time she came with the ball, she got another swim.  I don't know the water temperature but I'm sure that it's cold.  She was never panting from the heat !

Onward !
