Nov 15 - tires again

There was a break in the action (action is pretty slow when you're a retiree !), so I swapped summer for winter on the X5.  That's relatively easy because the winter tires+rims are smaller and lighter.  It's going to be a bear reinstalling the summers as they're so much heavier.

There was a break in the rain, so I took Cassie to the sandbar.  Another boat was there and they were throwing balls for two goldens.

I called Frank Tetz and we chatted for a bit.  He's got a specialist appointment on Monday to investigate the tumor.  I don't think that it's conclusively malignant yet but that's the expectation.  Prognosis isn't good but he's in good spirits.  He was expecting my call because Bill had told him of our exchange.  He answered "Dave" and my response was "Frank ... you're not supposed to get sick; you're supposed to out-live your Dad" - his Dad lived to almost 100.  Frank is almost exactly 20 years older than me.  We might very well stop by and see them in Saratoga Springs on our way to Hemmingford this coming week.

It's more difficult for the caller in these circumstances, never knowing what to say, but ... most often the recipient is very happy to hear from you and the words flow.  We talked about travels, a common interest.

Not much else ...
