I had an annoying high beam warning that was coming on with the M5 but when I turned on the beams, the warning went away. I got tired of it and bought the two-up package of H7 halogens. Cassie went for a boat ride. I sprayed two more, yeah two more, wasps nests that were being built in the boat lift.
I bought another wifi thermostat that I'm going to setup in the basement up north to give me a temperature read, not actually running the furnace. I hooked it up here as a test; no problem once I understood what the R & C wires are on the thermostat !
I'm also toying with the notion of picking up a 220v relay that I can use to operate the winter baseboard heaters remotely. It seems like a pretty straightforward setup. The relay has a transformer built-in and powers the thermostat with 24vac; the white wire comes back from the thermostat to the relay and switches on the 220v load. There's also a 120v version that I could use in the wine cellar, if I really wanted to get fancy, but after the last time "cooking" the wine, I'm nervous. Either way, I'd have another way of it shutting down with a mechanical thermostat downstream from the wifi in case the wifi just left the power running.
I have two new front tires being delivered today for the X5. Now that the alignment is fixed, I'm hopeful that a) the tires will be quieter and b) that these things will last longer !
We heard from Sheryl that they're planning on Saturday November 23 for the service for Jim. Sigh.
On that note, I'll probably mount the snow tires before heading north because after we get back, we'll only have a handful more days before we head to the "other north". We plan on leaving Dec 10, at this point.
I uploaded bunches of pictures, getting 2018 and all of 2019 cleaned up on my website via my Google Drive.
I'm hoping to do another 200k tomorrow; get that out of the way for November.
