Dec 24 - Christmas Eve dinner at McD's

Not us !!   That was the drive-through queue at Mickey's in Parry Sound.

It was another odyssey to/from Oakville but not because of traffic or weather; just because.  We left at 7 and were home just after 7.  Along the way Sandy had her new crown installed; I had my bite tinkered with; we stopped at Stef & Aaron's to pick up stuff heading this way; got gas twice; had lunch at Tim's at the King City Onroute; visited Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Walmart, Sobey's in Parry Sound; I went to Mass ...

Mass was a lot longer than I expected.  It's actually been many years since I've been to a Christmas service in a crowded church.  I missed seeing our few parishioners at the mass in Port Loring but there was no way to be back in time.  I'll have to give Betty Buchanan a call to see how she's doing and wish her a Merry Christmas.

One reason that Mass was longer is that there was an entire kids nativity play in the middle of Mass.  Kids did the readings including one who obviously couldn't read.  At best he could read one word at a time but I couldn't understand the words.  His dad ended up coming up and helping him.  No matter, he got a round of applause when he was finished.

... and then we had steelhead trout for dinner.  Angelika and Said had taken care of Cassie, so she didn't have to ride around all day.  Said has mastered the chuck-it so Cassie is content.  They gave some of the downstairs entertainment items a workout - foosball, air hockey, pool - proving that our presence wasn't necessary for entertainment :).

... and now it's Christmas, but not as quiet as usual, since we have two guests.

Onward !
