Dec 26 - the melt

Some misty rain; not sure how long the ice will last.  No action on the fishing lines.  A lazy day.

Saeid and I went for a walk back to the lake late in the day. 3:30 is late in the day here because shortly afterwards, it gets dark.  Of course Cassie came as well.  I don't think that Angelika or Sandy even went outside !

I puttered around, playing with a security camera, a $35 unit that seems to work well.  I'd tried to get it connected to wifi in Florida without success; now I think that I have the hang of it.  Right now it's running connected to wifi and a charging brick.  I've setup notifications; have not tried recording yet, only live view.

I also knocked off the Randonneurs Ontario financial statements - P&L, Balance Sheet and Bank Rec.  That fiscal year end is Sept 30 - I sent them off to the accountant who does our tax returns for free.  In a few days I'll have to tackle the same for RUSA, only in that case, I'm the one who prepares the tax returns.  There's no rush but I like to get it out of the way.

And of course, with year end, there are personal taxes to tackle.  I always crank a rough guess through shortly after 1/1 and polish it later.  The rough guess enables me to pay my estimated tax payment, close enough to not pay any penalty. 

Tis the season ...

Sandy did some dinner prep, cutting coleslaw ingredients etc.  She does a lot of work but, as I told her, it's what she wants to do.  We could pick up a half-dozen frozen pizzas and feed everyone ...

Jeffrey is on the road, having left around 6:30.  Sandy heads to Sudbury today, stocking up for the gang.  She'll follow, or vice versa, Angelika out the road.  The temp is above freezing but Osprey is slick.
