Feb 29 - back to ... 8

Only 8, well not quite, Sheryl was around for dinner so we were at 10.

I picked up Jeffrey & Sara & Emma at the Disney dock, #8 in Port Canaveral.  I got there around 9:20 and they finally got off the boat and through Customs and to the car about 9:40.  It takes a while to de-board thousands of people, and get through Customs.  It all worked out well though.

They had a great time on the cruise; a bit of a letdown being on dry land and the semi quiet of the house.  I took Cassie and Matthew to the sandbar where it was crazy windy.  Matthew had to chase his shovel down the beach.  Jenny got to the house just after we left so she missed out.  That was my fault for not notifying Sheryl early enough that I might head over.

We ate at the Tiki, all bundled up but it was warm in the enclosed space.  I'll have to make a note that the calamari was great.

Here's something interesting - Squid must be cooked for either a very short time or a very long time. Anything in between turns it very rubbery. Two minutes over high heat is plenty. Beyond that will require at least 30 minutes to an hour to re-tenderize it.

The gang flies out at 12:02 today, Daytona to Philly via Charlotte.  I'll take them over.  The house will be quiet for sure.

Onward !
