Mar 19/20 - so what's new ?

Well, there's a pandemic, cataract operation, travel restrictions, all sorts of craziness at the stores, restaurants closed, stock market crash ... pretty quiet, business as usual.

Sandy did her right eye yesterday.  It went better than the first; no scratched cornea this time.  We visited CVS later and she picked up a pair of reading glasses but she's mostly one-eye at this point although that should get better day by day.  With all the restrictions, I had to spend a lot of time in the car vs in the Dr's office.  The appointment only happened yesterday because elective surgeries are cancelled for next week ...

She wanted Thai food, so we went out or rather, I went out and picked it up.  Thai Mango, the local restaurant, still had tables set.  The shutdown had happened earlier in the day.  The SYC shut down on Wednesday, so it beat the rush.

At CVS, the shelves with hand sanitizer & alcohol were empty, surprise surprise.  Harbor Freight had a limit on nitrile gloves.  At Publix, many shelves were empty or really picked over.  Cheese, eggs, meat ... very thin; fresh veggies, no problem.  I'm sure that if someone blogged that a way to get through this was to roast peppers and freeze them or to freeze other fresh veggies, we'd see a run there too.  Hummus ... why is everyone stocking up on hummus ... it's not as if we're in an ethnic area.

I did get over to Total Wine on Thursday and picked up a couple of dozen bottles of red wine.  I'm set for the next month.

I didn't mention that we had gone out in the boat the other day.  I changed the spark plugs on that Johnson 150 and it ran like a charm.  We ate at what was Inlet Harbor and is now Off The Hook ... but we can't do that now.  If/when we go out again it will be picnic time.

My church is closed.  No masses on Sunday or daily throughout the Diocese of Orlando.

The ride in Ireland was canceled.

Hamid and Shab are now in Boca Raton; $34 round trip airfare from MD.

Kim and Graham are still stuck in Peru.  Their challenge is getting food, as I understand it.

Nope, nothing new.
