Apr 8 - on the phone, mostly

It's too much like work, sometimes.

I had a call with my fellow Lost Channel Roads Board trustees at 9am - Mike & Bob - to review the status of the roads and where we'll expect to direct our MTO money for 2020.  That was prep for our call that's to occur this morning with MTO and our secretary Peggy.  There are no in-person meetings this year, of course, and the normal roads tour took place with Steve from MTO driving his vehicle and Bob driving his.  Life in COVID times ...

I did some more mangrove trimming ... answered tons of emails ... had our monthly 2 hour conference call at 8pm last night ... all RUSA business ... well not the mangrove part :).  Throw in a call with our insurance agent and the day rolled by.

Sandy roasted cauliflower to go along with our triggerfish and sauteed zucchini; another great meal.  We keep talking about ordering something in but it hasn't happened.

For the middle of the day we went out in the boat - yes, we.  We took the skiff to disappearing island, much to Cassie's delight.  We noted that what used to be Inlet Harbor, now Off the Hook, signage said open with full menu served dockside.  We didn't see anyone parked for dockside service though.  The gas attendant was present but we had already gassed up at our marina - much prefer to give them business.  At our marina they want you to stay on the boat and you're not allowed to come into the building, not even where your boat is on the rack.  Perhaps with a prearrangement that would be possible.  I still think that Mark is going a bit overboard and interpreting the business closure rules overly strictly.  I think that he should be able to resume forklift operations but they were so busy for the couple of days at the beginning of this that I can understand the limit to service and gas.

Onward-ho !
