May 2 - my day off

When I don't ride, it seems like a day off.  With so much on hold, it's truly a day off ... but I did go to the grocery store, my BIG EVENT of the day ... whoop-de-do !

However, things are starting to open up.  The SYC Tiki will be open next weekend.  The beaches are open but I don't think that you can park on the beach yet.  There's a notice on my parish website about when they expect to start opening up for daily and weekend masses.  When I rode the other day, I saw some restaurants with people in them ... just little ones.  The Volusia Mall is opening shortly.  I'm not sure that all of this is good news, time will tell.  We need a new normal.

I did a little mangrove trimming over at Gene's, from the end of his dock, with my pole trimmer.  I've done as much as I can do from the dock and need to get onto the ground to do any more at that end.  Gene is happy for anything that I do !

Sandy's been walking up a storm; I think that she did 7 miles yesterday.  Cassie also got a trip to the sandbar but the ICW was crazy busy with boats going both ways, PWC's ... it seems that people have nothing else to do and now that the boat ramps are open, this is what they're doing.

Eventually we'll be thinking about heading north.  At the moment, Sandy has that delayed Dr appt on June 3 but she's going to check to see if that can be moved up.

On the rando front, in Ontario, things are shut down at least until July 6, based on communication from the OCA.  RUSA is offline for May and we'll be thinking about June at our meeting next week, based on a recommendation from our committee.

Onward ... as long as the infection rate isn't ... upward.
