Well, only on the 4th.
I've been busy on the computer - Randonneurs USA work on the permanents program - mostly.
Yesterday, however, I took a break to assemble my Harbor Freight electric pole saw - a dinky chain saw on a pole. It works; not sure for how long but it works. It's HF, after all, and I'm not expecting huge quality. I'll use it sparingly.
Then I got out the real machine and cut up the big pine limb that fell in the front yard and the maple and basswood that fell across the driveway. The brush is piled in a couple of places but the wood is all ready for splitting. I'll likely do the splitting in the next couple of days and then leave the piling for David and Vanda :). Some of it will come straight to the woodbox behind the house; the balance to the woodpile up by the barn.
It was a lot of cutting. I should probably bring the chainsaw back down to my workbench and sharpen the chain.
I was expecting to be stiff from all the work yesterday but I don't feel any worse than usual :). I haven't been on the trainer yet nor has Sandy been on the elliptical. She's been busy working in the garden - weeding and using the little electric rototiller. It's been a few years since the garden has been worked up ... doesn't look like we'll do much travel this summer !
We received an email from the Government of Canada again yesterday, reminding us of the quarantine. We've been good people. I'm expecting them to call again and/or have a visit from the police.
Annemarie reported back from Sudbury that she went to Costco and found 75 people in queue to get into the store and gave up. I would expect that Barrie is even worse. Great. Bring some music and a chair. Take a number and/or wait for a text to say that you can get in ?
I setup the mosquito catcher outside although they haven't been bad. The black flies are basically gone and the M's only out there in the shade or early am or dusk. I haven't seen any in the house; much improved over last year. I suspect that the problem last year was the kitchen vent-a-hood but I fixed that by adding a screen outside at the exhaust.
So ... how's our food and drink supply ... wine to last a few months, but not until October; frozen meat etc. to last us to the end of the quarantine; veggies not so much; coffee enough to last us until Christmas, I think !
It was cool this morning - 49F - but expected to hit 81F today. That's perfect weather, IMO.
In a couple of hours we'll be 4 days down, 10 to go, for our quarantine.
