Jul 14/15 - some tinkering

I went for a 100k on the 14th, picked up a few more deer fly welts.  The worst part is Osprey Road and of course any uphills on 522.  The temperature was more moderate, better for riding.

I did some tinkering yesterday, cleaning up the few accumulated trimming piles with the 4-wheeler and trailer, doing an oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plug change on the generac standby generator and using the carb cleaner on the Merc 40 on the Whaler. I'll pick up some replacement spark plugs in town.  It must be due.

Driving the 4-wheeler and trailer along Osprey towards the end of the road at slow speed, so as not to lose the pile of brush, I was mobbed by deer flies that then swarmed me while I was emptying the brush.  At least I was able to dump them going back, easily outrunning them with the machine.

Sandy did more work in the garden and I got involved as the sprinkler wasn't working.  I replaced the sprinkler and the hose and it's better now.

The Takagi tankless hot water heater has been behaving itself since I cleaned the igniter and did the vinegar flush.  I know that it's biding its time for a very inconvenient time.

Today, the 16th, would be a riding day but there's rain heading our way. Yesterday would have been Sandy's Sudbury day but she delayed until today with the weather prediction.

Onward !
