I believe that I have Ring more or less sorted out. Once back after Christmas, I intend to complete the security part of the installation (parts on order) and replace the existing system. Since the cottage has the same security system, I'll move the parts north for spares and to complement what's currently in place. The system here also has the cell connection so, perhaps, in a galaxy far, far away, I'll be able to connect by cell. Maybe Musk will provide that coverage, maybe not.
... and I got out for a ride yesterday. I'm in shape now to do a series, I think, or at least a Florida series, but of course we're leaving shortly. Right.
I posted a picture on FB of a rattler on the bike trail. I was watching the trail ahead at that point because just before that a good sized gator and I surprised each other. He/she was on the side of the path. It happened quickly and I didn't get a picture of the gator.
I have chores to do before we head north or at least one major chore. I'll do the snow wheel/tire swap today. Once back in January, I'll swap back and then I've got to get to Tire Kingdom and install the new tires that are sitting in the garage. The old rears are down to the treadwear indicators and very noisy. The fronts still have some life but there's no point in just doing one.
I took Cassie to the sandbar yesterday and when I hoisted the boat back up, I believe that the belt was slipping a little. I wasn't able to tighten the motor to the new location to get the belt completely taut. There's no micro adjustment. I think that I'd have to remove the belt, move the motor, tighten and then work the belt onto the pulleys. There's a risk that something else would break.
I met with the dock guy yesterday. He's going to replace some of the hoist parts and the moveable platform off the back. He knows that we'll be away until mid January.
Onward ...
