If you haven't seen the movie, you can stop reading now. Life in a pandemic doesn't offer much in the way of variety for blogging. Our life has been fairly repetitious, right down to the dinner menu; more a weekly repeat than a daily.
However, things are gradually changing. We've been vaccinated. The after effects only lasted a day. I've been riding. That's gradually getting better but I still have some residual left leg problem when I stand on the pedals. Sandy has been out and about a little more, doing gardening. I'll know that we're truly on the upswing when she actually gets the pedicure that she's been talking about for months !
We have a visitor !! Angelika arrived on Friday. She's the first one to stay here since Jerry last March. Sandy had to clean the upstairs bedroom "wing". She's happy to cook for someone other than me; happy to have someone else to talk to :).
Our boat at the marina hasn't seen water since early last year and I'd have to check for that date. It's possible that we didn't even get out after Thailand and before we closed down. I went over a couple of days ago, gave it a cleaning, started the motor and the plan is to actually go out today, Thursday. It's going to be quite windy but that should be ok.
It struck me the other day that I could actually find a long distance ride within 7-8 hours from here. Dallas is actually closer than some of the Atlanta rides. Gainesville FL is running a 200k this coming weekend and if it wasn't supposed to rain, I might actually go ... but I'm not keen on a planned rainy ride. I can do 200k on my own without subjecting myself to rain and wind. But ... but ... I'll have to start paying attention to the GA schedule. Dallas is a boring drive away. Montgomery AL is also about the same distance and a little less boring drive.
Nancy and Ron are in Florida, Annamaria Island. We may drive over and have lunch with them next weekend. That's a 3 hour drive; probably figure 4 each way. Bustin' loose as it were. Jeffrey and Sara and kids arrive Thursday after.
Onward !
