Mar 8/9 - oh my

I did a bunch of rusa catchup on Monday as we had the vaccine shots scheduled for that afternoon. According to plan, I'd have gone for a ride on Monday.

Oh my. I was feeling a little achy through the night but by dawn it was full blown. When Sandy got up she looked at me and wanted to know if I was ok. Not ok.  I hurt in every bone (I know, bones don't hurt), every muscle, every hair. That was it. No nausea, no sinus, 1/3 of typical flu symptoms I guess.

I dragged myself around most of the day but by late morning, Sandy had the same issue. Always being the smarter one, she eventually took a Tylenol which suppressed the symptoms and she went out for a short walk with Cassie.

I took a Tylenol mid afternoon and also got relief. By dinner Sandy's meds had worn off and neither of us were hungry. Even though I had slept part of the day, I was in bed by 7pm and slept until 5sm, only getting up once to take my 2nd Tylenol.

That Tylenol was about 8 hours ago and I feel 1000% better now.  There's some residual ache but not much. Call it tentativeness. We'll see how it goes.  I hope that Sandy is ok but her reaction seems to be running behind mine by about 6 hours.

Accompanying the ache, I was chilled all day. That usually means a fever but my temp was 98.6 - about 1 degree higher than my normal.

I am curious about the reaction to the 2nd shot. I'm guessing that the first shot allows the body to build its defenses, prep its armies and munitions, for an upcoming war.  The 2nd shot is another large injection of "enemy" particles and the body then goes into blitz mode. Since it's delivered into the muscle, it enters the bloodstream and goes everywhere so the body has to mount a defense on all fronts, immediately.

Obviously, from my reaction, my body is ready for a war against this virus (or so I hope !).  If one has no reaction, does that mean that they don't have as good immunity?  Is an extreme reaction better than no, or minor reaction?  Who knows. I am taking this as a good sign. Bring it on !  I'm ready for action !!!

Im betting that I have full immunity now but I won't go pub hopping just yet.

Onward !
