Mar 29-Apr 2 - more people

Not used to having people around, with the eternal lockdown.  Here we go !

I squeezed in a 200k on the 30th, well actually 225. The gusty east wind and heat made the ride tougher than usual but the day went by. I left early, shortly after 4am and expected zero traffic on the Kennedy parkway in Merritt Island. Wrong. It was all heading south, like me, and in spite of the fact that the northbound lane was clear, they didn't like me being on their road.   By 6am I was inside of the "no bicycles" window but there were no KSC patrols to complain. I'd have to leave by 3 to clear the island before 6 which seems overachieving.

Jeffrey, Sara, Emma, Zoe and Matthew arrived at DAB airport around 6:30 and we picked them up with two cars. Cassie came along for the ride. What the heck.

That was Tuesday. Wednesday was another hot day and the kids played outside. Sara was under the weather from the 2nd Moderna shot from the day before but did make it over to the SYC pool with Jeffrey and the kids. Thursday cooled off and the gang went to a bookstore in holly hill.

Friday was Easter ham day, planned that way because Sara's mom Susan was coming. Sandy went all out as usual with ham, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, beans and key lime pie.  At least ham takes less oven time and doesn't need stuffing.

It was quite cool yesterday with a high around 60 and high winds. We had high volume here because Susan brought Logan, Sara's sister's son who is a little older than Matthew. He is staying here for a few days and Emma is going back to Jupiter with Susan. They'll swap mid week as the gang leaves on Thursday.

If all goes according to plan, work starts on the upstairs bathroom on Friday but I'm not expecting that to actually happen. We shall see.

Onward.
