May 13-15 - trimming

I'm working away at the mangroves. Too bad I broke my 12' trimmer but a new one arrived yesterday.   I mostly work with the extendable lopper which provides great leverage but some areas are hard to get at.  I did some trimming from the boat yesterday. Next up, the area out from Gene's dock. Once that's done I could retire for the season.

I need to get the Yamaha guy in to replace the battery cable in the skiff engine. I bought a new one but there's a wire that runs inside a cast metal part and I'm not 100% sure that I can simply cut and run a different way.   I may or may not get around to this before we head out.

Speaking of which, that date is still undetermined. Vic (vanity) and Jeff (tiling) have been in and next steps plotted but in the meantime nothing is happening.  Frustration is building. Sandy has picked out the quartz vanity top. I thought that she would have gone with granite but she likes the quartz, which is a man-made slab of resin and quartz.

Still to do: tiling then plumbing then vanity then counter then more plumbing and electrical (me), lots of cleanup (doors, threshold, baseboard(?)), painting, grab bars, shower glass, etc ?  At this rate, one more year work.  I could, ahem, build a small house for the price of this bathroom remodel.

David and Vanda are at the cottage. They'll be back next weekend. Stef may or may not go.  Lauren is back home. We don't know the entire story. We talked to Kylie a couple of days ago on her birthday.   Hard to believe she's 26.

Onward.
