It gets worse. The furnace at the cottage has failed. Not to worry, I've cranked up the basement electric heaters and keeping the place warm that way. I've got to talk to the furnace people in Sudbury and setup a tentative appointment for after we arrive. Once there, we can make the place toasty between the basement heaters and the fireplace, so I'm not particularly worried. David could also make a quick trip north for diagnostics, if necessary.
Life is too complicated. I've got to de-clutter! All these "things" (houses, cars etc etc) own us, not the other way around.
I got in my November 200k on Friday and did another 100k yesterday. I'll do a December 200k this week and a couple more 100k's before we leave.
On the decluttering front, I've replaced the router here with another Orbi, same as at the cottage. I can remote manage both of them, as necessary. The T-Mobile gateway is running everything and the Spectrum modem is powered down. If TM comes through with the speed-up on Dec 3 then I'll cancel Spectrum. If not ... well ... I'll have to consider my options.
Marda arrives on Dec 2 for a few days. That'll be great. We haven't seen her in about 2 years. Sheryl arrives soon afterwards and we then "take a hike" up north. The cottage furnace might drive some of our plans ...
... but on the driving front, the M5 is deteriorating. It appears that it's simply the throttle sensor but I've got to get it in to someone to fix. The oil temp/level sensor also needs replacing but it's hard to do that without replacing the barely-hanging-in-there plastic underneath the engine. I'll talk to BMW this am and order the plastic and the sensor. I haven't decided whether I should go to the bmwerks guy for the throttle or simply use the dealer. It doesn't take much to put the car into "failsafe prog" mode when it's cold. Once warmed up, it's fine.
Anyhoooooo that's life.
