Watching the temp up north in the cottage. We had a power outage yesterday but it didn't last long. Called Hydro One and the recording said that the outage had already been reported and there was no estimate for restoration ... press 7 (or whatever) if you want a notification that the estimate has changed. Right. Anyway, it came back up a little later. I think that the total down time was about an hour. The upstairs temp had dropped 1 degree; the downstairs temp dropped 6 degrees. Heat rises.
With a power outage, the downstairs electric heaters go offline. I get notification emails after they've been offline for 1/2 hour. The furnace (yeah, the non working furnace) is on the generator so it wouldn't notice the outage. It did make me nervous though.
Otherwise, getting out every 2nd day for a ride, did my December 200k yesterday and will likely ride tomorrow (Monday). It was cold to start yesterday, hands froze at 39F. I should have worn full fingered gloves. Dumb. Warmed up into low 70's though. Nice ride.
Marda is here now, leaves Wednesday. Sheryl is supposed to leave Hemmingford today and arrive Tuesday but we haven't heard word on that. Boat parade and party on Saturday. Covid test Sunday 11am then hit the road. Hope to have results late Monday or early Tuesday, cross the border and stay with Davies Tuesday night and north to the cottage on Wednesday. Furnace appointment on Thursday a.m. ... Heat is about 55F upstairs, high 60's downstairs. That's going to be as good as it gets until I get a fire going.
I'll get in another ride or two this week; need to put the snow tires/rims on the car; not much packing to do, considering.
We're scheduled to get our booster on Wednesday afternoon. Hmmm. Thursday could be a blowout.
Onward.
