Apr 28 - good intentions

Yes, I had good intentions.  I was going to ride and then see what I could do with the Yamaha motor tilt, but it was too, too hot to work outside.  It was also too hot to ride but once that was underway, I had to get home.  Sandy did help me turn the boat around so that the stern is facing inwards with the boat hanging on the sling.  Now I need to pick up a couple of 2x6's to stand on.

How hot is it ?  Well, at 4am this morning it was 77F outside.  That keeps the electric meter spinning as we run the A/C.  As I look forward at the forecast, the overnight temp doesn't seem to go below 70F for the next few days.  A few days ago, out in the boat, the ICW temperature was 78F.  Once the water is warm, it doesn't get cool here.

On the other hand, the Loring forecast shows frost overnight and four days of rain.  Ok, I'll stay here !

Stef is testing out the extended warranty on her car; it wouldn't start.  It will likely be covered but I've paid for three of these extended warranties now and while they do provide peace of mind, what it saved me was a small fraction of the spend, less than 10%.  Well, that's what insurance is all about !

The TV went flaky again a couple of days ago with sound but no picture.  It must have known that I was researching the fix because it came back on.  It's interesting, shining a flashlight at the TV you can see that there is a picture as there's movement going on.  Knock on wood.  From my research, it's either the power board or the LED backlight board.  Neither is that expensive and they look like they're easily replaced.  I still have the tab open on YouTube; should probably pick up the parts as one of these days I'll be the in-house TV repairman.

There's not much else happening ...

Onward !
