Jul 8/9 - busy time !

We are 10 now, with Jeffrey, Sara and Matthew & David and Vanda having arrived.  Adding 33% to the kid-count increases the noise level exponentially, it seems :).

On the DOA (date of arrival), Sandy went into Sudbury to stock up.  She was home relatively early and I headed into Loring with the girls for ice cream at Buchanans as well as dropping off loads of wine and beer bottles at the LCBO.  Earlier in the day I got the Bayliner running -- battery installed and launched -- and took the girls for a quick ride.  I'd intended to leave it out but then decided that for the 5 minutes that it took, I'd pull it back into the boathouse.

Jeffrey made his usual 11 hour trip, give or take, and was here a little after 5pm.  David arrived a few minutes later.

Yesterday, Sunday, I went into Britt for Mass.  The Port Loring church is closed until further notice which probably means that it won't re-open unless someone puts pressure on the bishop but clearly Father Dalida's (Trout Creek) bent is to keep it closed otherwise the question wouldn't have been asked.  Oh well, it's 10 minutes further to Britt and I have the option of either Saturday or Sunday during the summer; Sunday the rest of the year.

It was relatively cool but we had a gang in the gazebo most of the day playing games, having lunch etc.  Matthew played on the beach for a while; Cassie was fetching all day long.  I took the girls tubing late afternoon once the sun was out.

I had bought a quad-copter at Christmas and brought it up but never got it out.  Jeffrey has mastered it, taking pictures and videos.  David hasn't had a go ... I did inside but couldn't keep it stable.  It sounds like a pack of mosquitoes !

We had pickerel, compliments of Costco on Saturday.  Sara had something else; she's not a fish person :).  Last night we had ham and scalloped potatoes.  I cooked the ham most of the afternoon on the grill; I dealt with the pyrex scalloped potato backed on mess this morning and the second round of dishwasher use.  When we've got a gang here it mostly runs three times per day.

Jeffrey is the only one up and about right now.  I'm betting that there are more awake but pondering a rise time.

Onward !
