Watching the weather forecast and doppler radar closely today I decided to delay going out until the heavy rainfall that was off the coast went by. Mistake. Had I gone out early and been back by 1pm I would have stayed dry. I finally got ready to go out just before noon and just as I went outside it started to sprinkle ... soooo ... I decided to run an errand.
I went down to Canal St. to the license bureau to switch two trailers over to my name from Philip's -- but found, as expected, that I needed more documentation. These trailers are already "mine" but are in my brother's name because I cannot have Ontario license plates in my name since I don't have an Ontario drivers' license. They are the trailers that came with the two boats.
Anyway ... the lady said that I needed a "bill of sale" -- which can be "gifted" of course, and the Ontario registration filled out for the transfer. I'm not sure why I'm doing this since the licenses are permanent in Ontario -- it's just neater to have these in my name should I ever want to sell them. I'll get documents from Philip when we're together this summer and then do the transfer later this year.
Back home, I decided to go out, rain notwithstanding. It was not raining at the time, but there were dark clouds up ahead and I fully expected to get wet. I was not disapointed. I got dumped upon twice and was drizzled on most of the 60 mile ride. The roads were filthy, since we have not had rain for quite a while, so by the time I got home I had top to bottom cleaning to do. Riding was easy though, albeit a bit slow.
Sandy had gone out to the Volusia Mall to do some shopping but was back home before me. She brought back Cobia from the fish store -- something that we had not tried before. It was excellent. The following is from Wikipedia --
The Cobia is a large, long, slim bodied fish with a broad depressed head, a protruding lower jaw. The Cobia is overall a dark brown color with a prominent dark lateral stripe that runs from the eye to the tail. Its distinguishing first dorsal fin is composed of 7 to 9 spines that are not connected by a membrane. The Cobia is a sleek and extremely strong fish. They range in size up to about 135 pounds. The largest Cobia ever caught in Florida USA weighed about 104 lbs. An average size fish will weigh 20 to 40 pounds.
I started gathering some things for packing, but most of it will have to be assembled tomorrow. Packing is going to be a challenge.
... one more day to go in Florida ...
