Nov 14 - from rolling to cruising

Ah yes, back to Florida, rolling on my bike one day and cruising in the boat the next. Abby could sense that something was going to happen even though we had not not organized things yet -- she sits and looks up at me with the same look that I get at dinner time. If only dogs could talk ! No ... I take that back.

I went over to the marina first and had them put the boat on a work rack. The cover did amazingly well, with no water pooling, so I rolled that up and got it off the boat. Next I put on the numbers & letters for our registration, which had come in the mail from Bluewater Boats. I left the boat on the rack for Al to launch and add some gas.

When we got back about 1/2 hour later the boat was ready to go. The water temperature was showing 67F in the marina, for some reason, but once we were out in the channel it was over 70F. We putted down to the inlet. It was high tide and big waves were breaking over the breakwater. We headed out and diverted slightly shore-ward to avoid a boat driving across the inlet fishing. We were nearly caught by a bit wave about to break -- I goosed the engine a bit and for a second it seemed that we were going straight up ! Sandy didn't like that ! I'm sure that it wasn't that steep, but it certainly seemed that way at the time. Anyway, it was quite rough out there, not a problem for the Hydra Sports boat, but not weather for cruising so we headed back and over to the island for Abby to have her run.

After the island we hit Inlet Harbor for lunch. I didn't feel like a long cruise. Back home around 3pm I went out and did some errands, then we had shrimp for dinner ... the day was done.

Today I'm about to go to Mass and will then go biking.

That's it ... onward ...
