Feb 17 - not much of anything

The day slipped by.  I went to Mass and didn't go out again.   I didn't do any work on the flooring either.  Sandy went out late afternoon, making a trip to DeLand and buying a toy for Zoe from Craigslist.  It's kind of a stand-in play thing, like the Jumparoo that she has.

What on earth did I do ?  Well, I fed the fire -- more for decoration than anything else -- there aren't many days that we can have fires, so I did.  I updated some Randonneurs Ontario accounting and put out the Treasurer's Update for tonight's conference call.

Hmmm ... this isn't very good ... a whole day-in-the-life that I cannot account for ?

I did do some trip planning.  I exchanged emails with Peter Turnbull in England about my trip to LEL in July.  At this point it looks like I'll be going solo, visiting Allan and Christine before the ride.  I sent them an email.  I'm also planning on doing the Gold Rush Randonee out of Davis CA at the end of June and Sandy may come out for the end of that and we'll spend a few days in San Francisco.  I'm also toying with the idea of driving out and then driving back, which would have her travel back with me.  If all goes according to plan, I'll do four 1200's -- about the same as other years except that in other years one of those rides was a 1000k.

Oh -- didn't take very long but I did install a couple of screw-eyes in the concrete wall to anchor the bush beside the screened-in area by the master bedroom.  It had been anchored to ground stakes before which didn't hold very well.  I also bundled up the banana fronds that I'd trimmed, readying them for pickup this morning.

The temperature didn't go above low 50's.  Right now it's about 31F.  This is supposed to be the turning point, going up to mid 60's today and 77F tomorrow and mid 80's for my 300k out of Clermont on Saturday.  I'm ready for winter to be over already !

Normally I'd ride today but I've got my first full physio appointment at noon today.  I've got a laundry list of things to pickup at HD so I'll do that this morning.  I was going to go yesterday afternoon and then Sandy planned to go to DeLand; I wasn't in any rush.  Perhaps I will get to the flooring ...

Sandy pointed out that we now have three weeks without any visitors.  Wow.  Unusual, but life won't be boring !

We had shrimp last night for dinner along with quinoa and sauteed spinach.  That's a great meal.

Onward ...
