It was a good day to give Jerry's knee a rest. It drizzled most of the day. That also kept the motorcycles off the road and we made a run to the bicycle shop in Ormond Beach where Jerry bought some new tires, some Continental gatorskin wire beads that were on special. Wire beads are only ok when they're installed ... don't fold if you need to store them or take them off !
Jerry also practiced using ridewithgps and copying the result to his Garmin ... he's an expert now.
We had Panko encrusted Mahi-Mahi for dinner along with Quinoa (Jerry's first taste) and beans. I then took an hour nap and we headed out to the airport to pick up Kylie and Beth. The flight was due in late, so we left late. They got in even later and they and the luggage took what seemed like forever to come out. Kylie had called Sandy when they landed; I was ensconced in the cell phone parking lot cooling my heels.
Bottom line, the flight that was supposed to be in around 11:30 and with only carry-on luggage (which they did not have), we could have been home by 12:45 ... nope ... 1:50 a.m. Oh well. That's about par for the course.
It only takes an hour + 5 to get to Orlando International Airport, about 20 minutes different than Orlando Sanford, but with the airport being much bigger, flights are more prone to delays. Add to that the fact that there's a shuttle train from the gates to the terminal and a lot more baggage handling delays.

Whoops -- did I forget to finish and post this ?
On the 13th -- Janet and Michael showed up before 9am, as promised. We did the ride to Flagler Beach, a struggle for the last few miles due to the wind. I was certainly happy that we were not going to St. Augustine Beach !
The ocean was wild. We sailed all the way back, often flying at 25+ mph. Janet, unfortunately, was a bit un-nerved by all the traffic in Daytona Beach. She did get some pictures of the heart of Bike Week, however.
Enough ... more tomorrow.
Onward.
