Mar 5 - left side ~= right side

I don't have a "not equal" sign on this keyboard, so that will have to do !

Yesterday ... should have gone biking; it was beautiful.  I left it for today and the wind is 20mph gusting to 35mph so I'm staying home.  I know from experience that those gusts on busy roads can push/pull me into traffic.

I painted a mirror frame yesterday to match that dresser.  I did some Granite Anvil work, naturally.  I took Abby for a walk. I exercised.  I know that there was more but I forget.  Oh yes, I lost part of the morning with the dentist, a successful cleaning appt.  Good guy; good cleaning.

Oh yes -- I booked my hotel and car.  I diddled with credit cards -- more on that in a minute.

Today I left at 5:30 to to north to Ponte Vedra, south of Jacksonville.  The fellow at Bike Fitters did his thing, checking out my feet, taking all sorts of measurements, commenting that my left hip and shoulder are lower than the left (carrying a briefcase, perhaps or broken ankle ?) and did the 3D scan of my foot with an Epson scanner.  I'm not sure that it was really 3D but that sounded good.

The new footbeds (sounds more complicated than insoles) should arrive in 3 weeks, give or take.  I hope that this experience is better than the hearing aids !  At least it's cheaper !

Credit cards ... made my first booking for the end of July (hotel room) and then tried the second into August but couldn't because the card expires in July.  Sigh.  I then tried VISA, which was rejected.  I called VISA and it wasn't at the US end, so no solution there.  I called Amex who immediately was sending me a new one (arrived at 10am today !!! and then the lady talked me into the Platinum card.  At the end of the day it isn't as expensive as I'd thought due to a variety of things -- 1) foreign exchange 2.7% fees not charged; 2) airline incidentals (baggage, food, drinks) credited back up to $200 (almost half of the fee), and a few other things so that it's basically a wash or better with the foreign exchange fees.  I'd already eliminated most of that by having a separate CAD Amex card but what the heck.

So I now have the second booking in place and I'm trying to get hold of the hotel.   How do you like this message -- "no one is available to take your call and you cannot leave a message".  Are they in the hotel business ?

Onward ...
