Sep 28 - and closer

I did a little of this and that, bought some wine and did some shopping.  Sandy did some more kitchen organizing.

Today we'll clear out the living room and finish up the kitchen and then my work will start, disconnecting the plumbing and gas in the kitchen and laundry room; moving the dishwasher, stove, fridge ... hmm.  I probably need more plastic; never thought about those appliances.  There will be a fair amount of destruction in the kitchen as well once they start on removing the bulkheads and wainscoting.  Yikes.

Once this is all finished, I have a complete gut/reno job to do in the laundry room.  I considered keeping some kitchen cabinets for that but then I'd have to store them and don't really know what I need at this point. That might be a Fall 2014 project, I'm thinking.

It rained heavily all morning but eventually cleared.  It looks like there are still spotty showers drifting in from the ocean, with a NE wind, so I don't know if we'll get any more today.  I hope to go for a ride after Mass since it will be my last chance for a few days.

By tomorrow night I expect that access to this bedroom where I've got the computer will be via the elevator.

This is going to be interesting.  Perhaps.

I saw the orthopod on Friday.  Did I mention that ?  He wants to do surgery, naturally, that's what he does.   His take is that without surgery the bones will continue to move against one another and the rotator cuff tendons and ultimately more-or-less freeze up with arthritis.  I'll have to think about when would be a good time to be immobile, but now isn't the time.  Perhaps I can plan a window in the Spring, perhaps right after we return after Christmas.  Hmmm.

Onward ?  I certainly hope so !
