Dec 7 - time for a parade

I went for my planned ride and then we ate at the club and watched the boat parade.  It was a beautiful warm day.  This year, because the last year was such a zoo, they had a buffet for dinner.  Rose, Holly and Chantalle (sp?) were run off their feet serving drinks, but at least they didn't also have to serve food.

We'd gotten there early, or at least Sandy and Marda got there early, so we had good seats by the railing.  I walked over about a half-hour later, having fed Abby and caught up on email and relaxed a bit after showering.

It was another ride south with a wind that sometimes felt like ESE and sometimes like SSE ... oh yes, and approaching the causeway, like SW for a couple of miles.  No complaints though, a week from now I'll miss the warm weather and the riding.

Speaking of which, I'm anxious to see this fat tire bike.  At the latest it's supposed to be ready for pickup on Wednesday but I'm hoping that it's earlier.

We will leave here either on Saturday a.m. or Sunday, haven't nailed that down yet.  In some ways Sunday is more convenient, because I can go to Mass on Saturday and not have to make arrangements to hit a church somewhere on the road.  So far the weather looks clear for the trip, albeit cold.

On Friday I installed the Christmas lights, solo this time, Angelika not here to help me.  It's not exactly a strenuous activity though, only took a half-hour.  I'll be doing that up north soon, as well as cutting a Christmas tree, if all goes according to plan.

Today we go a-boating, the first time since September.  Abby will be so happy !

Onward ...
