Feb 27 - touring

We did some touring with Lucille and Dave, showing them Flagler Avenue, Canal Street and the Beach.  We picked up our new annual beach sticker, so we're all set for more beach driving.  Then we drove down to Merritt Island and there were actually manatees at the observation deck ... bonus !  On the way back we ate at Goodrich's in Oak Hill, which was quite good.  We'll have to do that one again.

Lucille and Dave are an interesting pair.  They are both 70-ish but you wouldn't know it.  Touring, kayaking, motorcycling ... they're packing a lifetime into their relationship.  It's wonderful to see.

It was cool, damp and quite windy, not really conducive to walking the beach so the car tour was the way to go.  Goodrich's has a nice outdoor area to eat  but again, indoor was best.

Today the weather changes again.  We could tell that Jim and Sheryl had been here in our absence because they moved some of their stuff -- bikes etc. -- into our garage.  Their time at the condo is up today, yes already.  The month has flown by; it's now likely six weeks since they left Hemmingford.  They will stay with us for a few days and then head north again.

Jerry will also arrive today, or at least that was his latest plan.  That means that I have a lot of riding ahead of me -- good !  I have to make up for missed days.  It's only after Jerry has  been here and I've done several rides in a row that I finally feel that the season, and I, am underway.

From this point on we have lots of company.  Sheryl & Jim; Jerry, Bill & Colette, Angelika (tbd), Dick & Nuala, Marda, Jeffrey & Sara & Emma & Zoe; David & Kim & Megan ... and I'm probably missing some.

We had vermillion snapper for dinner last night, just as good as the first time but larger filets.  Sandy picked up shrimp for tonight and also picked some up for Patti Himes at the same time.  She seems to be doing well after the knee replacement ... great !   Her son Steve is there right now; Pam has gone home to NYC.
