Mar 30 - strange post

Something went strange with my post yesterday but I'm not going to bother correcting.  Perhaps it has historical significance in that I'll check the emailed version of the post in the future ?  Likely not.

Yesterday was a mostly quiet day, absorbing fluids and carbs, snoozing.  A 400k isn't really a one-day ride once you take recovery time into account.

However, as much as I didn't really feel like it, when Sandy called from the balloon festival to see if I wanted to go on a Cessna ride with her and Angelika ... ok.  I'll get myself moving.  I went over and watched most of the aero show with them and then we went up in the four seater -- pilot and the three of us.

They had been flying north for these rides but we asked to go south so that we could see our house from the air.  The pilot said "sure" and away we went.  Not everyone was happy with that decision ...

Yes, we were not the only plane in the air.  They also had three US Army helicopters that they were doing rides with -- a Mash copter, another type of troop carrier and an Apache attack helicopter.  Neat machines.

I had the co-pilot's headset on for the flight and could hear all the chatter.  With all these planes in the air (the three helicopters, two Cessnas, a biplane and several other small planes from the air show, apparently there was some sort of agreement as to routes, not surprising.  One of the army types got on the air complaining that he thought that there was agreement that their helicopters would go south and the other airplane rides would go north ... ha ha ... well, at least he didn't shoot us down !

It was a 15 minute flight, out to the coast over our house, north to the inlet and then back to the field.  Very good.  Thanks Angelika !

After that, we headed to the club for dinner.  I had a huge burger and I'm still full   Otherwise, I feel more normal today.

Stuff to do -- cars in again, Lynskey frame to the post office, perhaps other stuff ?

Onward !
