Mar 31 - a quarter down

It was a momentous first quarter, at least for David and Kim.  The Cadet Franchise has been sold.  The process was not without pain, but it's over.  David did basically the last thing on his list yesterday, making a trip into Toronto to pick up some residual clothes that weren't delivered on Friday, closing day.

The lawyers did well out of the deal.  Four sets of lawyers chalked up $ on this account along with one Real Estate firm.  It's shocking to think that almost 25% of the proceeds went to the leeches.  You'd think that reasonable people could do a small deal like this without paying all that money, but unfortunately there are so many ways that things can fall apart before, during and afterwards, that the lawyers "protect" everyone's interests ... or are they simply protecting and preserving their own ?

At any rate, this isn't a place for all those details.  Who knows, it might get me in trouble.  I'd have to pay a lawyer to add E&OE all over the place, along with other disclaimers, so that there wouldn't be any blow-backs.

What's done is done.  We live and we learn.  We move on.

Here in sunny Florida it was sunny.  I cleaned the bike from the messy 400k ride.  Sandy and Angelika took in Flagler Ave, found that Benny had re-opened, try # 3, at least, for a Sushi restaurant.  I did remove some more banana stalks, prompted by the fact that the yard trash pickup didn't happen until late afternoon.  That didn't take much time on my part, but I did it, so there !

I also downloaded all the pictures from my camera, which are now posted on "recent".

Today, onward ... boating.

The Lynskey frame is now on the way back for repairs.  The split that you can see below is top and bottom of that tube !

Our gathering of the contractors ... what a great group !

Dave and Lucille ...

Bill Nelson at the helm of the shuttle, really !

The air show, always interesting to see formations like this !

$300 for 5 minutes, one passenger only in this bird !

From the Cessna, our house is second from the left.  It's low tide.
