It turned out to be a beautiful day. The water is still cool though, at 65, but that will change quickly with some warm days.
We did the usual -- out the inlet to the ocean and dawdled out there for a while. It was quite calm. There was a large pod of dolphins but nothing else -- no whales, turtles, rays ... oh well.
Back to the island, we were the only ones at the south end. Abby enjoyed the water and the sand. We then went to the old standby, Inlet Harbor, for lunch. Sandy hit gold with their Ahi Tuna sliders. I had the Mahi sandwich. Angelika had the beef sandwich, au jus, I think. We then had salmon for dinner of the west coast variety, so it was a fishy day for two of us.
In between, I went to Fields to drop off the X5 and came home with a new X1 loaner. Interesting. It has this stop/start feature, turning the engine off when you're stopped with the brakes on. It's quite basic, with cloth seats and no i-drive -- why can't they make an X5 like that ?
This morning I'll be on the phone with Dean Martin (MTO), Susan Allen and Pat Martin for our Lost Channel Local Roads Board annual budget meeting. Hopefully that will go quickly because I'd really like to get out for a ride. That would have been yesterday, except for the boating which had to be yesterday due to the LCLRB meeting.
Onward !
