May 26 - end of day

Yes, it was the end of the day  before the X5 was ready, only it wasn't really ready.  The issue with the A/C was/is a leaking evaporator, which they've now ordered so the car will be back in next week for another two day visit.

Y'know, I had fewer problems with my 2004 X5 with 280,000 miles on it !

I had some doubts about what I was being told by the service rep and gave Debbie Schmidt in Bala Cynwyd a call.  She's now in Service at Mainline BMW, but was the one who sold us all three cars (old X5 in this case).  My question was actually about updating the programming on these cars and she said that yes, it takes a long time, in fact it can take up to 5 hours.  Sheesh.  I think that I'll find out what happened to my Dad's old red Ford Ranger and buy it back !

Since Alister and Carol were due to arrive, I had Sandy bring me to the dealer early and I sat there and read on the iPhone.

Earlier in the day I was doing research on bike frames and decided to get the existing frame fixed and add rack mounts to it.  That's about the cheapest option to have a backup for this year.  Now I have to decide on a long term solution if I want to build a different rando bike.  I've exchanged emails with True North Cycles as well as Waterford Cycles.  Litespeed doesn't have anything for me.  Lynskey is also a possibility but this recent experience has me a little nervous about dealing with them.

Today, hopefully, I'll go for a ride.  Shortly I'll be heading over to the gym for my 6am appointment with John.

Onward !

You need to get a sponsor for your riding and let them help with the equipment! :-)
