Apr 15 - another monsoon !

It was a great ride to the half-way point.  Sunny, blue skies and a 20+ mph headwind.  I was really looking forward to the return.  About 1/2 mile from the turnaround point I stopped and looked back.  Oh damn.  Black, Black, Black.  I was in for it !

Half of the ride back was quick as I approached the black sky, the tail-wind pushing me along.  On the NE stretch just before the Kennedy Parkway entrance to Merritt Island I could see the wall of rain hitting the road ahead.  Yikes.  I stopped and put on my shower cap (must not muss my hair !) and rain jacket.  I love those motel shower caps.  Then I rode into the rain which was dumping down and whipping around.  When Dick and I rode in the rain a few days ago it was coming straight down ... this was all directions.  I put on my lights, nice to have and fought to remain upright at times.

Flash/Boom ... with no pause in between; that was too close for comfort, but it was the only lightening that I saw or heard.  Oh yes, I had a headwind now and the temperature had dropped.  By the time I got to the Citgo to get my end-of-ride receipt, the worst had passed by and there was just a light rain.

Sandy said that the wind was so much from the west during the downpour that she sat on the balcony upstairs and watched Mother Nature have at it.

W7 is still working nicely for me.  I've still got a couple of things to setup including RSS Popper and I'm playing around with the Cobian Backup settings.  The biggest thing to get used to isn't W7 itself but the switch to Office 2007.  Word and Excel have been updated "just a little" since Office 97, go figure.

Marda made it home Monday after switching flights.  Dick must still be on the road; they were planning on taking 2-3 days for the trip with an agenda along the way.  DKM (David, Kim & Megan) arrive on Friday.  Abby is lonely but doesn't know the action that's on the way !

Sandy is going in for a root canal today, literally, not figuratively.  I don't have an agenda yet, but whatever it is will be onward ...
